Sort me!

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

I would change the awareness of ignorant people. Too many people in the world do not realize things and people in the world, and the result is not only more ignorance, but lack of solid communication, true social structure and friendships, and too many power struggles and conflicts between people. By “realizing” I mean understanding other people, taking into consideration other peoples’ feelings and positions, and being considerate to other peoples’ situations. I really think that people realizing more things about the world around them would also help to bring about a change in outlook, and optimism might become more of a social movement then a state of mind. And a little more in depth than your “Pay It Forward” philosophy. A true, deep optimism.

What makes a person respectable?

Respect makes a person respectable. The idea of someone respecting me earns that person’s respect. I think the word Respect entails a lot in it, so it might be a generalized or blanket statement, but if I knew that even in the face of conflict people are willing to look past differences of opinion and respect one another, truly proves to me that they are in turn worthy of my respect. I guess it goes back to whether or not people are willing to be considerate to other people.

What do you look for in a friend?

I look for depth in my friends. I used to tell people that I didn’t make friends, “I made family,” and I still feel that way. I’m tired of superficial relationships and the hi-how-are-you conversations that get no where but as “small talk.” If people really talked out their lives and truly shared their ideas, we’d probably grow a lot closer as a group of people. Maybe as a nation. *shrug*

What are your hobbies?

I’m a student, first and foremost. A perpetual student. But in that, I’m completely devoted to the performing arts, and devote most of my time to theatre and music, and singing. I love performing, it’s a true catharsis for me, and it really allows me to explore my emotional side, which I think is very important. I also am a complete bibliophile (“lover of books”) and collect all sorts of books, even if I never get the chance to read them. I am into philosophy, literary criticism and dramatic theory (theories having to do with theatre). I like to sit and think.  And listen to uplifting music.

Have or would you give time and money to a charity?

If and when I have the money, I will be a very big supporter of charities. My mother has breast cancer, and I know I will give as much as I can to help societies help people suffering with breast cancer. I also had a friend who grew up in a children’s home because she was an orphan, and I’ve realized the necessity of helping organizations like that, because they help people so much, and are an integral part in the shaping of our society.

What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?

I would like to develop a theory, or even just a novel that everyone will read, and realize “hey, that sounds like a great idea!” and it will revolutionize the world by influencing people to re-evaluate themselves and urge them to open themselves up much more to each other and to the idea of optimism. A lot of philosophers have tried to revolutionize society, but it’s something I dream of doing and reaching everyone.

Who is your role model?

I actually don’t have one particular role model or hero, but I pull a lot from people I come in contact with and from things I read and characters I come across in books or movies that I admire. I’ve never latched myself on to anyone in particular, but I enjoy having a network and system of “role models” or people that I can rely on for support, and people that I can look up to.

What trait most annoys you about other people?

Ignorance. Including, and especially, people who are ignorant about their own ignorance. People who refuse to follow certain rules, and then get mad for other people not following rules, or people who dislike a certain trait in someone, but get mad at other people who dislike the same thing. In short, hypocrisy. I can’t stand hypocrisy that hurts other people. I hate hurting other people, and I can’t stand it when other people are cut down.

What do you want to do for a living?

Write shows, direct shows, and perform in shows. I also want to write and study literary theory. I’ve also thought about going into school for psychology on top of all of this and becoming a counselor. I’m very empathic and into other people’s feelings.

If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do?

If I had the means by which I could help, I would. But if not, I would first try calling for help before I charge in. But I would not run away. I don’t think that even if I knew I wasn’t able to do anything to help, I know I wouldn’t be able to just run away. It’s hard to just say, sure, I’ll stay and help them, but I do know I wouldn’t leave them or run away.

Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason?

That’s hard to say. I’m going to go with “no,” because I really don’t like the idea of playing God with anything Unforgivable. I’m not qualified to be that powerful of a judge, so I’ll leave that to someone higher up than I am.

What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?

My top quality is my optimism. I have never hated a person in my life and I refuse to ever start a hate list. Second, I think my performance quality is excellent, including my speaking ability and on-stage charisma, haha. Third, I think that aside from being optimistic, I’m a very caring person, even if it gets me into trouble because I can be quite naïve at times. Fourth, my analytical ability to break things down, which explains why I’m into lit. theory and dissecting texts. And finally, I think my openness to new ideas and change is a good quality. I’m sort of grasping for straws here, but I do know that I am very open-minded and very accepting of people (because of optimism to the human nature), and I’m open to change and different ideas.

What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?

I have a fairly hard time controlling my temper (it’s the Irish in me), I have issues with my listening skills which gets me into trouble quite often, I’m very flighty sometimes and miss important details, I’m not very motivated when it comes to work and tend to slack in the homework area, though now most of my homework is reading which I love to do anyway, but I’m very insecure with myself which hurts me a lot, and I’m really bad with handling money, haha.

Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: standing up for something, an idea, a person, and not backing down. Facing fears, charging forward and taking a stand against an antagonizer.
Loyalty: Standing next to something or someone that means something to you. Not giving up even in the face of trial.
Intelligence: The amount of knowledge you have, and how you use it (which is just as important)
Ambition: Drive to accomplish something important. Motivation to make or create something, especially when it comes to attaining personal goals.

What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? I honestly have no hang-ups with any particular house, so I don’t know what house wouldn’t fit me.
