I present myself for your sorting pleasure...

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? I would make it possible for anyone who desired to receive a good education in whatever field and to whatever level he/she wished. I feel that this would make for a more enlightened world in general.
What makes a person respectable? Whether their actions match the person they purport to be. Anyone who is true to himself is respectable, to some degree.
What do you look for in a friend? Intelligent, quirky people who keep me on my feet, mentally. I like my friends to have many different interests so that I can learn from them and not get bored. And, of course, backstabbers are not tolerated.
What are your hobbies? Writing [working on a post-modernist novel], playing with my rats, reading, playing Princess Maker 2, cosplay and japanese gothic and lolita fashion, dollfies, philosophizing, cooking, dying my hair, learning languages [I know Latin well, and could get by in Germany and Spain -- I'm taking ancient Greek this semester].
Have or would you give time and money to a charity? Yes, I regularly give to charities when I can afford it, and I have volunteered my time in cancer walks, working at an animal shelter, and tutoring children for free. I don't see the point of charities like the Make A Wish Foundation, though. I mean, yes, giving a terminally ill child a good time is a wonderful thing to do, but I feel that so much money is being wasted on extravagance there when it should be going into research to cure the disease itself.
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish? I would like to earn my doctorate, though I am not entirely sure in what. I have considered science, philosophy and medicine.
Who is your role model? I'd have to say my lab instructor. She has traveled all over the world, earned degrees in many different subjects, has been a gymnast and an ice dancer... She has had a very interesting and fulfilling life so far. I would like to emulate it in my own way.
What trait most annoys you about other people? Ignorance and a lack of desire to remedy it. Such people tend not only to be rude, but boring. I can't stand people who are constantly throwing out their opinions, but won't listen to those of others, especially if they contain alternate viewpoints. They tend to be judgmental and rarely have an open mind toward others.
What do you want to do for a living? Mmm... as I mentioned earlier, I don't really know.I keep getting told that I should be a writer and that I will waste my talent if I do anything else. I find myself drawn to science, though, so I hope to combine them into something interesting.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do? I'd jump in to help him/her in whatever way I could, preferably with magic, though these steel-toed boots come in handy sometimes.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason? If someone had done something awful enough to deserve it, I suppose I would, but not without much deliberation.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities? Rational -- I try to see all possible sides of a situation before making a decision. Logical -- I am quick to find logical errors and incorrect arguments. Empathetic -- I am good at understanding and interpreting the feelings of others. Intelligent -- I have always done well in school and in life because I am a fast and yet deep thinker. Strong-willed -- I will not do something against my own personal code, no matter who is trying to convince me.
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities? Shy -- Meeting new people is hard for me and I am also not always inclined to want to in the first place. Pessimistic -- I think I'm realistic, other people think I'm pessimistic. I try to think of things that are likely to happen and be prepared for them, unfortunately these things tend to be bad ones. Bitter -- I'll hold a grudge a long time and tend to reflect on the times I've been betrayed often. Clumsy -- If there is something to trip over, I will find it. If there is something to spill, it will spill on me. Impulsive -- Sometimes I will throw away my pessimism and forethought to do something that seems fun without thinking about it. This doesn't always end well.
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: Not faltering in the face of something that terrifies you or seems impossible to achieve.
Loyalty: Not deserting your friends, no matter what the cost (unless they've backstabbed you, then they're not your friends anymore).
Intelligence: More than just a quick wit -- the ability to think deeply and identify subtle and delicate points of difference and similarity.
Ambition: The drive that is needed to truly get anywhere in the world.

Name: Morgan
Age: 21
What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? Hufflepuff, as they don't seem to be quite as bitter and cynical as I can be.
Where did you find out about us? Clicking around when procrastinating on lj. I should definitely be doing Greek homework right now.
