If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
I'd definitely make sure everyone learns something about the world... there are way too many stupid people out there who are complacent with being ignorant, and that makes me angry. More and more I find myself tired of having to deal with ignorance, even if it is a part of life.
What makes a person respectable?
Whether or not they make the right choice, even when it's hard. The right choice would be defined as the choice that is not socially correct, but the choice that is morally correct. It's never good to let your emotions get the better of you.
What do you look for in a friend?
I look for someone honest, loyal, funny, and kind. I pride myself for my loyalty to my friends at all times. I pretty much want a friend like myself. Even more than anything, I'm the kind of person that will go out of my way to do something nice, and sometimes it's nice to have someone do that for you without asking.
What are your hobbies?
Reading, watching movies from my DVD collection, working, going to school, anything Harry Potter. More than anything, I'm a little bit fanfic obsessed. One of my best hobbies (heh!) is being a D/Hr shipper, lol. You wouldn't believe it, but there's just something too cool about that ship. Other than that, I spend a lot of my time with my books. Or with the cash register at work.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity?
Absolutely. Throughout my life I've maintained that if I ever win the lottery, or just strike it rich, I'm going to give a good portion of that money away. What use do I have for it? It can't come with me after this life.
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?
Right now, finishing school and getting my Psych degree out of it. Even though I've always been a good student, and even with my smarts, I don't like college that much. I'm still young, and having my mom's blood in me... well, let's just say that I tend to do some of the same things she did. She dropped out of college during her freshman year... but she went back and got her degrees. I want to finish my bachelor's and get out of Louisiana... then we'll worry about the rest.
Who is your role model? My mom... she made it through school with two kids, going to night classes, working all day... and now she's getting her Ph.D! She's awesome! I think, also, my dad is a great role model, being that he's changed his life over from being a hectic country singer wannabe who was sick all the time... to being a Christian, smart, funny, and mature. I love both of them... they've shown me so much about how to live life.
What trait most annoys you about other people?
Constantly whining about your problems when those problems are not really that bad at all. I have my own problems, but I'm not whining all the time! I can't be sensitive to them 100% of the time either!
What do you want to do for a living?
Work at Disney World, or make movies. When I say "make" movies, I really mean, write, direct, produce, soundtrack... all of it. And why Disney? I've been obsessed with Disney since I was a little kid. Every year I buy the Birnbaum's guide just so I can read and read and imagine going there... and then I map out the expenses. And that's just for vacation. When I graduate, my fiance' and I are moving there.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do?
Um... I don't know. Part of me would be ready to help, part of me would be ready to run. And the rest of me would be fighting with myself in between. I'm not really a brave person. But then, sometimes, I totally shock myself with that. I want to say that I'd fight, but like I said, I'm totally unsure as to what the real outcome would be. I've saved my own neck enough times to know that. I also know that I operate differently when angry, so I hope that explains my indecisiveness.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason?
Not unless there's a good reason to do it. Like, you just totally screwed up something important in my life. That goes back to the last question, too... But really, is using an unforgivable curse brave? I don't really think it is. It's just the easy way out for some. So I'd have to say only in a state of extreme emergency, but then, you never know what a person, myself included, will do in a state/fit of extreme anger.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
brains - I've always had a much easier time than others with schoolwork and studies. I maintained a 4.0 average for years.
athletics - I used to swim, I played softball, volleyball, rugby... I'm taking a bowling class this semester in school, and I'm really good at it.
writing - one of my passions, I love to write, but I have writer's block so often when trying to write fiction that I simply use writing in my LJ to get it out of my system.
singing - If I could sing in a reply, I'd do it... I love to sing. Not American Idol quality, but I've won a few talent contests.
telling it like it is - I'm not ashamed or afraid to tell you anything, even if it's going to hurt your feelings. I've recently learned to hold this trait back, but I've also noticed that as a Psych major, it helps me with my work and my experiments.
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
Not as nice as I should be - Geez, sometimes I can be such a wanker that I want to smack myself!
lying (sometimes) - Childhood habit, and it's grown on me... I hate liars, but sometimes I can't help lying myself.
manipulative - I have too good a knack for guilt tripping and manipulating people to do what I want them to do. I hate it.
budgeting money - I like to spend money, preferably on books and DVDs... but needless to say, I like to spend money!
eating too much - I like to eat food. I work at a restaurant... It's dangerous for your health to work at this place, because obesity must be on the rise simply because of them! What great food! But I enjoy my food. I don't play when it comes to eating. How will I ever lose weight for the wedding dress?!? :P
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: Courage is going against what you want to do for others, sticking your neck out when you don't have to to do what's right. Courage is simply saying something that you should have said a long time ago to someone, or even standing up against a bully. Courage is where we step outside our normal demeanor to defend our own personal code of honor.
Loyalty: Loyalty is standing beside someone or something that you know is right because it's your duty to uphold that promise to others and yourself. To be loyal means to uphold that person's trust in you. It's a founding basis for being a knight! To be a knight you must be loyal to your lord. When you are loyal, you're less likely to disobey, you're trusted, you can be relied on to do any important task. Loyalty is also about the bond between two people. When you're loyal, you're true.
Intelligence: Intelligence is not just book smarts... it's common sense... Knowing the right answers, sure, but also knowing when and when not to put yourself into a situation... Should you jump out in front of an oncoming car? No. Should you do it in a video game? Sure. It's having the presence of mind to know what to do when a situation arises, and to be able to comprehend the feelings and emotion that envelopes us sometimes.
Ambition: Wanting to get ahead, by any means possible, simply put. Worse yet, there's good and bad ambition. Good ambition is totally fine, because you won't put others' necks on the line... you won't be apt to risk so much to get what you want, and you'll work harder. In the end you're rewarded. Bad ambition is selfish. It's all about you... and the take take take... never any giving going on there.
What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? I don't think there's a house that doesn't fit me... I can't really judge myself like that. But I'd sure like to know what houses you don't think I'd fit in... :D
