Thanks so much!
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Only one? I hate deciding. I think I would eliminate all the animosity and misunderstanding in the world. Everyone is just so closed to other ideas and beliefs, and it just makes talking to them so hard. I'd also like to make the world more fun, less heavy and administrated.
What makes a person respectable?
A respectable person is very godly, intelligent, refined and not crude or immature. I respect people when they can hold a stupendous conversation, when they have opinions and aren't afraid to back them up. The person would not wantonly put down others, but respect them.
What do you look for in a friend?
I look for someone I can talk to, and has a few of the same interests, so that we actually have something to talk about. Recently, I've been looking for friends who are crazier than I am, to make me loosen up a bit. And usually I look for friends with similar moral values.
What are your hobbies?
Well, besides hanging around LJ and the internet in general, I like to read, play my flute, dance, sleep, have fun with my friends. I try to write, and I cook sometimes. And I'm trying to get more into photography and art.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity?
I would give money to a charity, most definately, if it was something I believed in. As for time, it would depend on the charity, the amount of time I had to give, and how much the charity needed me. I would consider it, though.
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?
I want to get a doctorate. That is my main goal right now. I love scholarly things, and I just love the idea of being called 'doctor' someday. I also want a deeper relationship with God.
Who is your role model?
A family friend of mine. She is a very godly woman, wise and warm-hearted, and she epitomizes what I want to eventually become.
What trait most annoys you about other people?
When other people are inconsistent. If someone cannot keep little facts straight, I seriously doubt their thinking on big things like life.
What do you want to do for a living?
I really don't know. I've thought about working in publishing, like being on a magazine staff or possibly an editor in a publishing house. For a while I wanted to be a dietician, but that phase is past now. I've been thinking for a while of just becoming a college professor, which would solve my problems in deciding what to do...plus it would go nicely with that doctorate, no?
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do?
I could never say unless I was actually in the situation, but I'd hope that I would jump in and help protect my friend. Either that or I'd call for help, wonder if I was crazy, and then join in, and hope that my few self-defense skills serve me well.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason?
I would use Avada Kedavra only if my life were in immediate danger and nothing else would stop my assailant. I might be tempted to use the other two on occasion, but wouldn't.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
=Kindness (most of the time, at least... I've been told so many times that I'm so nice)
=Ability to see both sides of an arguement (which can be very maddening sometimes)
=Drive to learn and master new skills
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
=I have a tendency to be lazy
=I can't think on my feet quickly enough
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: is when you stand up for what you belive and know is right, no matter what the cost, in any situation. True courage is rare.
Loyalty: antonym of fickleness; when you do not waver lightly from something you've agreed to do or someone you are close to
Intelligence: is something you're born with (unlike smarts, which you can cultivate); I think it's a natural curiosity combined with a knack of picking things up quickly; a quick mind
Ambition: the drive to better yourself, to raise your station in life, to reach for something that might not be attainable
What house do you think DOESN'T fit you?
Hufflepuff. I'd actually rather be in Slytherin than Hufflepuff. I have this aversion to the house, even though I know that it's not a bad house. I think it's because a lot of people consider it the 'reject' house, and I in no way want to be considered less than I am. I also don't like to work.
