If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? I would open up all the borders between countries and allow all the different people to mix together. This way, people can learn more about the races and nationalities of the world without listening to what their leaders tell them. If this happened, a lot of bigger problems (war, famine, etc.) can be solved through a greater sense of understanding.
What makes a person respectable? A person is respectable if they have a purpose and work towards it in a way that does not interfere with anyone else's. They should also be able to give everyone else respect regardless of their race, gender, sexuality, nationality, etc. If they are lucky enough to have an excess of money, they do not horde it and, instead, they donate it to charities or generally help their commmunity.
What do you look for in a friend? Humor (if you can't laugh, you can't live. laughing at yourself is even better.), intelligence (can't talk about philosophy with someone if they don't know what it is), an open mind (helps everyone get along better!)
What are your hobbies? Reading anything I can get my hands on, spending hours on LJ (I have no life), writing bad poetry, and watching some high-quality American television
Have or would you give time and money to a charity? Yes. I volunteered at the local hospital for nearly 100 hours and gave most of my money to the tsunami victims.
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish? At the moment, going to college next year. Let's face it: high school isn't much fun, and college has become a necessity to move to the top. Unless you're Bill Gates, but even he went to college for a short time.
Who is your role model? Anyone who is comfortable with him/herself and can accept other for who they are without sacrificing him/herself and does not follow the crowd. For a specific person, I'll have to go back to my old favorite Joan of Arc. She may've been mad, but she had the courage to follow the voices of her angels and break tradition to free her country from the Brits.
What trait most annoys you about other people? Anyone who is extremely egotistical bothers me. Honestly, if all you think about is yourself, what good can you accomplish?
What do you want to do for a living? I want to be a college professor or a screen-writer.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do? Find out what/who it was and find a way to prevent it from happening again. I'd refrain from killing it unless I had absolutely no choice, but I'd take as many measures as necessary to keep my friend safe.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason? No. I'd rather punish someone using the law and I would never use torture. I know people who are like "I'd only use the Killing Curse on Voldemort 'cause he's bad," but that's such a quick, easy, painless death that it's above a man (if you can call him a man) of his nature. Imperius is just creepy (puppets scare me, what can I say?) and Cruciatus is torture and the karmic repercussions of that would not be fun.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities? Abilities: Organization, Listening, Music Making. Qualities: Creativity, Imagination
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities? Qualities: Shyness, Procrastination. Weaknesses: Obsessing over little things, befriending new people, debating
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: The ability to take an inner strength and face any situation head-first. In large doses it can lead to badness (think Harry and Sirius's death), but with a good dose a person can do anything.
Loyalty: Staying true to those that love you, or whose group you belong to, no matter how desperate or dark the situation becomes.
Intelligence: Intelligence comes in two forms: Books and Life. Book smarts are acquired by reading books and taking the words inside and applying them to your situation, or holding on to the words for another day. Life smarts come through your experiences or those of another person and allow you to grow and change the situation the next time it arises.
Ambition: An inner-drive that pushes you for your goal. It can easily be turned into a bad thing when you achieve your goal by pushing others away from theirs.
What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? (This question is optional for those who feel they just DO NOT fit in a house. Please explain WHY.)
Where did you find out about us? Browsing LJ
Edits: I tried to write about as much as everyone else, but some people wanted more elaboration so I hope this helps! If it doesn't, just say so and I'll try again.
