For those who asked me to deepen my answers a bit, here they are! If someone who has already expressed his opinion wants to change it now, they can do it.
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? If I could change something I would like people to understand that other people's lives are as important as their own and to be more willing to help others when they are in trouble, instead of taking advantage of their weakness.
Who is your favorite Hogwarts teacher? My favorite teacher is Professor Lupin, because he's very fair and doesn't have prejudices, maybe because he knows how difficult it is to have to cope with them. He has a deep knowledge of the Dark Arts and at the same time he's very kind and cares about his students: he helps Harry with problems of a more personal nature without complaining like Snape. I like him for his courage, because he manages to live in a world that doesn't accept him for what he is, that fears him and considers him a monster. I admire him because even after the dead of the people he loved and the betrayal of his former friend he still finds the strength to go on.
Who is your favorite character in Harry Potter? My favorite character is Harry Potter himself. I like the contradictions in his personality: he's Gryffindor and Slytherin at the same time. His craving (ambition?) for acceptance and love is so strong that he founds in himself the courage to fight the evil forces. He wants to protect his friends, because they are the only family he has: this is very noble, but egoistic as well because his worst fear is to be left alone again.
At first fighting Voldemort was not very important to him, just something he was supposed to do, because he never got to know his parents and their loss didn't affect him very much; but when people (and people he loves) start dying in front of his eyes he really wants to kill him and we get to know his darker side.
He's a hero but at the same time he isn't. I'd like to quote Umberto Eco: The real hero is always a hero by mistake; he dreams of being an honest coward like everybody else. And so does Harry, but at the same time he knows he has to fight to protect the people he loves.
Who is your least favorite character in Harry Potter? My least favorite character in HP is Professor Umbridge, because she is exactly what a teacher shouldn't be. She doesn't know anything about the subject she's supposed to teach, she's cruel gratuitously but at the same time in her twisted mind she thinks she's doing the right thing. Behind her fake courtesy there's only a woman too stupid to understand what she's doing and a heart without sensibility.
What makes a person respectable? In my opinion someone is respectable when he is the first to have respect for the others.
What is your take on religion? I think it's important to believe in something that his greater than us.
We usually feel so out of place, so lost in this world, and religion can be a light in the night of despair. Religion should lead to hope, not to war or intolerance.
What do you think about house elves?I think they are very useful but they should be treated better. They shouldn't be considered slaves; if they want to serve a wizard they must do it willingly.
What do you look for in a friend?Even if it may seem a bit simplistic, I like people with sense of humor and also a bit sarcastic, because a friend must be able to cheer me up if I'm sad.
In my opinion a friend should be open minded, willing to share his more profound thoughts and smart enough to do it properly. I'm quite jealous of my friends, so I expect them to be a bit possessive too.
Would you rather have friends and family or money and success?I'd like a bit of everything, to tell the truth, but maybe I'm asking for too much. If I had to choose I'd rather have family and friends, because money and success aren't important if you haven't got someone that loves you and that will share your happiness.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Sometimes I'm a little know-all, so I think I need to learn a bit of humility.
What do you feel is your best quality?I have imagination and I'm creative. Daydreaming sometimes isn't a good thing, but if you don't overindulge in it you can make your life a lot happier.
What are your hobbies?I like to read and write, basically, but I love art in general. I draw and create pictures using computer graphic. I like to act and watch plays at the theater, but sometimes I prefer movies.
I'm not much into sports, even if I've done a lot of sports since childhood. I like to go out with friends, especially the close ones.
Do you want to have children?Yes, I'd really like to, because I think that even if we die a little piece of us lives in our children, in their memory. I'd like to teach my children those little things my parents taught me and that helped me complete the complex puzzle of my personality.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity?I've done it, but only when I thought it would really help someone. I don't like to waste time or money in things that I don't find convincing.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do? I’d help him even if it’s dangerous. Usually when someone you love is in peril you don’t have the time to consider if you’re able to help him or not, so I’d act on instinct, without wasting time.
If the help I could give him wasn’t enough I would go and search for help.
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?I think I’m a bit of a romantic, so I’d like to find someone to love. I really think that can’t be complete without love. You can be successful and have lots of friends, but, in my opinion, you can’t possibly be truly happy without that special someone that completes you.
Of course I’d like to be loved in return. Rejection is one of the things I fear most.
Who is your role model?I don’t have a role model, because I’m convinced that you have to go on your own way, without necessarily follow in somebody’s tracks. Everyone is unique and must be brave enough to face the world, taking his decisions with full awareness and because he wants to, not only because someone else did. The great men and women that came before us can be examples, we can be inspired by them, but we must remember that we are ourselves, with our qualities and our faults.
What trait most annoys you about other people?I really can’t stand people that pity themselves all the time without reacting. They drown in their own depression because they are too coward to do something and want others to show compassion. This world is cruel, but we have to fight for our happiness.
What do you want to do for a living?I’d like to become a translator of books from English to Italian or vice versa, or maybe a professor at University. I’d like to go up the ladder, without being only one of the many. I’d like to translate poems of famous authors and see my translations in important editions.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason?Maybe I’d use the Imperius Curse to prevent someone from doing me harm , but I think I’ll never be able to hate someone at the point of killing or torturing him. I’d try use the Unforgivables to protect my family and my friends, without thinking of the consequences, but I’m not sure I’d effectively be able to cast an Avada Kedavra or a Cruciatus (just like Harry with Bellatrix).
What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? (This question is optional for those who feel they just DO NOT fit in a house. Please explain WHY.)I think that I wouldn’t fit in Hufflepuff because I’m not much into hard work, to tell the truth I like being a bit lazy. My mother says that when something is important for me I really devote myself to it, without backing down, but when it isn’t I don’t apply myself as I should. I’m very stubborn and I don’t like to be contradicted and I can be very touchy even with my friends (well, especially with them, because their opinion means a lot to me).
I’m very curious but I don’t like to study for long hours(I do it because I have to, in order to get good marks). There are some subjects I adore (English, Art, Italian) and others that I can’t stand (Maths and Physics for example), so I don’t know if I would be a good Ravenclaw. School is not the first priority in my life and sometimes I find that a book I liked when I read it on my own loses its appeal when I have to analyse it at school.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?1.Sense of humor 2. Intelligence (or maybe it’s more an artistic feeling, for I don’t like scientific subjects very much) 3.Sarcasm (I love to make witty retorts, especially to people that try to insult me or my friends) 4. Writing (I really love to write down what I feel) 5. Lying (I know it isn’t something to be proud of, but I have to admit I’m quite good at it. I can even cry if I want to. Maybe I’d make a good actress)
Where did you find out about us?My friend tazza_di_jo told me about it.
