  • What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
Any profession I choose would have to deal with the written word. An author would be preferable. Surely there is some decent wizarding fiction out there. If not author, perhaps the proprietor of a book shop. In my Muggle life, I’ve always worked around books and I wouldn’t expect that to be any different in the Wizarding world.

  • If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why?
I’ve always thought Charms would be useful. Not the Charms taught by Professor Flitwick, but more of a Home Economics Charms class. Where did Molly learn all of those wonderful laundry-folding, soup-making, washing-up charms? Not every witch is destined to work for the Ministry or become an Auror. I think some sort of Household Charms course would be useful and I’d love to teach it!

  • This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not?
Hmm, this is a difficult one. I’ve never thought myself as a “champion” of sorts, but I do like a bit of adventure. So yes, I would put my name in. Would I expect it to be chosen? No.

  • If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why?
Don’t laugh, but it would most likely to be a hedgehog. I had one as a pet for years and we seemed to share the same personality. He’s bristle at people he was unfamiliar with (as do I) but once he became familiar with someone, he wouldn’t leave you be. So, I’m definitely going with hedgehog.

  • What HP character do you identify with most and why?
I would have to say (this is difficult) Molly Weasley. She is by no means my favorite character, but her need to nurture and protect her family strikes a nerve with me. I’m a mother of one young son and I’d, quite literally, kill to protect him, so I’m going with Molly.

  • What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
My child and I, (surrounded by books) and living a nice, middle-class life. We don’t need millions of Galleons to get by, but I’d like enough to be comfortable. We would be healthy, happy, well-read and well-rounded individuals.

  • If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
I would give 25% of it to charity. In the Muggle world, I have an incurable disease, so ¼ of the money would go for research. The other 25% would be for us to make a trip around the world. The other 50%? Invest and never touch the principle!

  • What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
My ideal job as a child (and actual first job) was working at the library. I’ve worked in libraries all my life. Nothing has changed about that. Still working at a bookshop!

  • If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
It would be a charm to clean the entire house in one fell swoop: dishes done and put away, laundry cleaned and folded/hung, toys in their proper place…you get the idea. I would call it Plene tarsus. According to an English to Latin translator, this means “Completely clean”.

  • If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
My Boggart would definitely be (and this is difficult to write) the corpse of my 6 year old son. Using Riddikulus? That would have to be my friend Daniel, wearing nothing but flowers in his hair and an Hawaiian hula skirt. That image never fails to make me laugh.

  • What do you look for in a friend?
Loyalty, honesty (even when the honesty is painful), someone that makes me laugh.

  • What trait most annoys you about other people?
    Arrogance, apathy.

  • What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
I’m highly organized (I have mild OCD)
I’m creative (with writing at least)
I can sniff out a bargain just about anywhere
    I’m loyal to my friends
I’m a good mother to my son. Father as well, since his father is no longer in the picture.

  • What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
I tend to make simple things more difficult with my thought processes.
I don’t know how to say “no”.
I tend to take on too many projects at one time.
    Procrastination.
I tend to care for others first and let myself “go” as a result.

  • Define in your own words the following key traits:

    • Courage: The ability to overcome a situation you’d rather not be in in the first place.
    • Loyalty: Staying true to someone, even though you aren’t entirely sure they are doing the proper thing.
    • Intelligence: Wits, smarts, and guile to handle a situation. Intelligence doesn’t always have to come from books. Living a full existence is the greatest classroom.
    • Ambition: The determination to achieve a goal at all costs. This may (or may not) include stepping on others along the way.

  • Name: Kellie

  • Do you plan on being active in the communities once you are sorted? Oh, most definitely.
