If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? The sharing of resources. I find it higly unfair that 1/4 of world population use 85% of the resources available, while the remaining 3/4 die of thirst and starvation, because they weren't lucky enough to be born in the so called "civilized" countries. Humanitarian helping is all well and good, but not enough, because it just makes those coutries even more dependent on the richer ones, while they should be made able to stand on their own feet. Everyone should have the same opportunities, first of all because of the Rights of Men, but also ‘cos it’s counterproductive! I mean, the more we abuse of them, the more they’ll hate us and the more they will think the only way to be respected is through terrorism. And starting a war creating even more death and hunger is NOT the solution!!!
Who is your favorite Hogwarts teacher? Remus Lupin. A cliche, I know, but I love the man. Everyone always pities "poor Sirius, 12years in prison", but does anyone think about what Lupin must have been through? All his friends gone, all the prejudices he must have had to face, not able to find a job... And he's the right balance of sweetness and thoughness...caring but not invadent. He knows his subject and has the right method to pass it on. You love him or you hate him, he doesn't leave you indifferent and so you won't forget his teaching.
Who is your favorite character in Harry Potter? Lately, Draco Malfoy. Well, the canon characterization is quite disappointing, too bi-dimensional, but it has so much potential! I hope JKR will deepen his character in book6. He could be the symbol of how much education matters in one person's life, and destroy the preconcept of Slytherin as the Bad House, which btw is preposterous, it's good for children who see everything as black and white, not for young adults. It's just like accusing every Muslim to be a terrorist. And I think he could be a much more better friend to Harry than Ron could never be. I just can't picture him as evil.
Who is your least favorite character in Harry Potter? Dumbledore. The more I read, the more I am convinced that man has his own agenda, and is just playing our Harry like a puppet. If he knows and can everything (as we've been lead to understand all through books from 1 to 4), how come in book 5 he just stands aside and lets everything happen the way it did? This smells bad, guys, trust me.
What makes a person respectable? Living remaining true to your own principles. Acting as you say. Not being an hypocrite. Admitting that you’re wrong.
What is your take on religion? I'm not baptized, and I never want to. I believe in God (though he really must be a sadist) and in the principles of Christianity, but not in the Church as an institution. Too many bad things has been done in the name of God. One man should be able to define their relationship with Him with no people in-between to dictate them how to behave. The Clergy is a bunch of hypocrites. At least in my country (Italy).
What do you think about house elves? They should be given the right to choose if they want to be paid or not. Shown all the possibilities, but in the end it’s up to them. This way it wouldn’t be slavery, but a free choice to serve for free. They shouldn’t be forced, either in working or in being paid. Anyway, there should be a sort of association in the defence of elf rights, which should control they are treated fairly, paid or not.
What do you look for in a friend? Honesty, reliability, strong will, a person whom to talk to, challenging. Understanding. A person who shows themselves for who they are and accept me for who I am. A person who sustains me when I’m right and berates me when I’m wrong, but accepts my choices and trusts me.
Would you rather have friends and family or money and success? Friend and family. What are money for if you don’t have anyone to spend them for?
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? My being afraid to show the real me for fear of rejection. My need to appear always perfect, pretending to be what others expect me to be. I’d like to have the courage to be myself.
What do you feel is your best quality? My sensitivity. Almost emphaty.
What are your hobbies? Playing the piano and the violin, alone and in the orchestra of my school. Reading. Drawing.
Do you want to have children? Yes.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity? It depends on the charity. I have to be sure of where my money go and if my help is really needed. Otherwise, I’d switch.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do? Probably rush in to help, but not right away. I’d have cold blood enough not to panic and I’d try to rationalize, call for help and, while waiting for more qualified aid, do everything I can. Probably.
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish? Leave the world a bit better than how I found it.
Who is your role model? Gandhi. Nelson Mandela. Nearer? My mother, I guess.
What trait most annoys you about other people? Disrespect of others, be it their opinions, choices, ways of living etc… Arrogance. People too judging.
What do you want to do for a living? Working as a doctor in Africa or Middle-East, in an Organization not depending on any government. Do something to help.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason? I don’t think so. But I can’t be sure. I mean, I’d most certainly never use Imperio or Crucio, there’s no point in using them but for the pleasure of hurting. I don’t think I’d ever kill someone, I don’t believe in personal revenge, but then again, no one I love has ever been hurt… What if I were to defend my life o that of others? I don’t know.
What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? (This question is optional for those who feel they just DO NOT fit in a house. Please explain WHY.) I think I wouldn’t fit in Hufflepuff, I have too much of a strong will. Although I tend to be loyal to a fault, I’m not a hard worker per se, if it doesn’t suit my purposes. I don’t think I’d do well in Ravenclaw either, because although I’m intelligent and I can get good marks if I want to, I don’t like to study for the sake of knowledge, and I’d choose a match of Quidditch over a tour to the Library anytime. I have the bravery to stand up for my opinions and against everything I believe wrong (included saving the “damsel in distress” of the moment), but I don’t rush in and I’m not much for physical fights. I prefer to fight with words, I’m good at diplomacy and talking people around to obtain what I want. But having strong morals, I can’t abuse of it. I really wouldn’t know.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities? Sensitivity. Respect of others. Listener. Kindness. Sense of irony.
Where did you find out about us? On furiosity lj
