If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
I’d make it mandatory for people to be approved for parenting abilities. There are so many people out there who should just not have babies, a certain pop star and her lame ass, corn-rowed husband being on the top of my list. In order to stop such atrocities I think people should pass some kind of test or something before becoming parents. Especially celebrities.
What makes a person respectable?
Their integrity, hands down. If someone has integrity, continually standing by their beliefs then I can’t help but have respect for them even if their belief system is different than mine. Integrity is such an important thing to have and many people don’t have it or think it’s important.
What do you look for in a friend?
I look for someone who has similar interests as I do, who wants to have a laugh and can be light-hearted. I can’t be around people who constantly think they’re right and that their way of doing things is the only way. I can’t be around people who constantly talk about the same thing every time you talk to them. A wide range of interests makes a well rounded person, usually makes them interesting too, but some people are just plain boring. And honestly? I look for people who I can bitch to, it’s therapeutic and Lord knows I’ll return the favor.
What are your hobbies?
Watching TV. Yes, it’s a hobby, don’t deny it. I want to work in the television industry in a few years so I consider it essential to my future. I enjoy writing, playing with my kitten, reading fan fiction (bad fan fic is an addiction), role playing, and chatting online. However, if this question is talking about sport like hobbies I love to ride horses. There isn’t any other being on this planet that I feel as connected to as I do to “my boys”.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity?
On my college campus I actively participate in a sorority, so we’re constantly doing things for charities. I’m not going to lie I HATE asking for money. It’s one of those things that I just hate to do and I think it’s one of the most awkward things in the entire world. I’ve given money to charities before, mostly children’s or animal charities. I’ve volunteered at a day camp over the summer at an animal shelter that has kids ages 4 to 14 and we’d educate them on proper animal and pet care as well as just about different kinds of animals as well. I’ve participated in the JDRF Walk in my area as well. If someone needs participation or someone to give time, I’m more than willing to do it (as long as it fits into my schedule of class and work), I just will NOT ask for money.
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?
I’d like to be able to be successful in my career, but the thing that I’d most like to accomplish and is most important to me in my thoughts of the future is to have a family. I know, it’s lame, and I always get embarrassed when I say it. I just want to be a good mom and hopefully be able to do half as good of a job as my mother did.
Who is your role model?
I honestly don’t think I have one. I remember once when I was a senior in high school and obsessed with Katie Holmes (an obsession that has long since waned) I put her as my role model and I was utterly mortified when at my Senior Presents (for National Charity League) that they said “Martha’s role model is Katie Holmes”. Feel free to laugh.
What trait most annoys you about other people?
Oh, man. I’ll go back up to what I said earlier about people who think that they’re always right. I have this one sorority sister who started to work at my job on campus over the summer. The girl had been there TWO days and she started telling me that what I was doing was wrong. It was a total WTF!? moment. I can’t handle those types of people, because it’s not in my nature to get angry at them for it so it just pents up until I can’t handle it any longer and I start to not like the person very much.
What do you want to do for a living?
I want to work in Programming for a television network, specifically NBC. The Programming part of a network basically reviews the dailies of certain shows they’re assigned to, reads the scripts, and corresponds with the writers of the show to tell them what is or is not working at that moment and makes sure that they’re keeping the show how the network wants it. I think I’d be perfect for this job because I’m constantly coming up with ways that shows could be better on NBC. My roommate and I are delusional and believe that the two of us alone can change the face of Must See TV.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do?
If it were an animal I’d probably feel badly, but it’s an animal so there’s not much you can do about it. Plus if were a cute animal, like a kitty, I think I’d be more humored than anything else. However if it were some kind of wild animal I’d probably think that the animal should just die if it did serious damage. Obviously I’d take care of said friend, try and cheer them up with silly gifts that would bring a smile to their face. If they were attacked by a person I’d think that the attacker should be in jail for being an asshat. Again, gifting and spending time with the injured.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason?
If my life or a loved one’s life were at stake I don’t think I would hesitate to use it, if there were no other way to live.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
I’m an endless source of information for all things television, I’m the person that all of my sisters or friends come to when they have a question about television or a particular show that I watch. Apparently my summaries of shows are humorous.
That being said, apparently I’m funny. I don’t know that I’d agree with that, but when I’m on a roll I’ve been told I’m great fun. I think humor is a good thing to have.
I’m energetic. When people get to know me I’m constantly on the go and chatty. I love to just go on road trips just for the heck of it. I love to go to Disneyland just because I felt like it.
That also being said I’m impulsive. I don’t like to have everything laid out for me. I like to travel and decide what I’m doing on the day that I’m doing it. I don’t like to have a list of things to do a head of time, with the exception of homework where I have to have a list otherwise I feel unorganized.
I’m also a giver. I LOVE to give and spend money on other people. I love to see the look on someone’s face when I get them something that actually has meaning to them.
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
My mother says I’m not compassionate enough, I’m usually running around calling people whores. I yell obscenities at people when I drive (which usually gets laughs from people in my car).
I’m a procrastinator. I do things at the last minute, but they always work themselves out. Even in college I can put together a paper the day before it’s due and still get an A or a B. I don’t know how I do it, but I do.
I’m stubborn. If I don’t want to do something, it’s going to take a lot to get me to do it.
I’m not patient enough sometimes, I want things when I want them.
I have slight OCD. At work we all wear name tags and keep them in the same place. I like to have them in a straight row and alphabetized by last name. I also have to park and re-park until I’m satisfied with my parking job.
