EDIT: I didn't put in overly-long answers because I'm always told that I write a little TOO much than needed. Then I looked at some of the other applications and saw the length (which immediately made me LOVE this community, by the way), and wanted to correct mine accordingly. So without further ado, here we go!

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? I don't like how money is this all-controlling, powerful thing. It seems like I spend half of my life trying to get enough to get by, and I still come up short. So if I could change one thing about the world, I would change it into a barter economy, more of a trade-centered as opposed to currency.
What makes a person respectable? To me, the thing that makes a person respectable is to stand up for what they believe in. I used to have problems with this because I wanted acceptance, but I wasn't the person I wanted to be. Now I am, and I'm reasonably happy with my place in life.
What do you look for in a friend? I tend to like people that aren't biased and don't judge quickly - in other words, people that are incredibly open and accepting. That's really the only trait that I hold to all of my friends - I have a large amount of diverse friends with different backgrounds and attitudes on life, but they all have that one thing in common.
What are your hobbies? I read a lot when I'm not working or doing schoolwork. I also play a lot of video games. My biggest hobby, though, is driving. I'm one of those people that could just get in my car and drive for hours with no destination in mind and be perfectly content to spend a day like that.
Have or would you give time and money to a charity? I have given money to the American Cancer Society on more than one occasion. I feel a connection with that particular charity, since my father was a cancer victim. I also used to volunteer at a local living facility for HIV+ people - this was way back when, though, when I actually had free time.
What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish? I think that my first accomplishment should be figuring out what I want to do in life; I'm going into my senior year in college, and still have no concept of what I want to do when I get out. I think that I'd like to go into the Peace Corps after this year, just to earn money for college and to feel like I'm doing something worthwhile with my life.
Who is your role model? I don't believe in role models. It sounds like a cop-out answer, but I don't believe in setting yourself to someone else's standards. I live up to myself and I do the best I can at what I do, and because of that I really don't feel the need for a role model, and vice versa.
What trait most annoys you about other people? I don't really tolerate stupidity at all. Sometimes it just amazes me how incredibly ignorant people can be, so I've sort of made it my life's duty to stamp out ignorance wherever I can find it. I've gotten into plenty of arguments before over a short-sighted belief, and though I haven't been winning arguments left and right, I feel like I've managed to open the eyes of at least a couple people.
What do you want to do for a living? I'm not really sure yet. I know that it will have to be something that I love, though, because I couldn't live the rest of my life doing something that I hate or got bored with. My problem is finding something that I love enough to do for the rest of my life.
If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do? I'd run to help them any way I could - I'd even attack the thing attacking them. I really don't like seeing my friends get hurt.
Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason? I don't know if I'll get yelled at for saying this, but there are times when I think it would be funny to use the Imperius Cuse on someone. Say, you have a friend that's out on a date, and you make him act like a chimpanzee, hopping around and screeching all over the place, before going off in search of bananas... I have kind of an odd sense of humor though, so maybe not.
What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
1. Personally, I think I'm pretty funny. I like making people laugh, and I seem to have picked up a nack for it.
2. I stand up for my friends when they're being put down by somebody else.
3. I stand up for my own beliefs
4. I'm loyal to my friends and try to be there to give them advice or help them in any way I can when they need it.
5. When I set my mind on a task, I can usually complete it fairly quickly
What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
1. I have really low self-esteem; I don't think I have many good talents and don't talk to a lot of people because I figure they won't want to talk to me.
2. I procrastinate a lot. It's just that sometimes there are a couple things that I would rather do than what I'm supposed to do.
3. When it comes to making really important decisions, I have a really hard time making up my mind.
4. I can be really shy at times, which makes me not want to go to parties, concerts, or out to the bar when my friends want me to go.
5. I snore. Really loudly. People can hear me in another room. And let's face it; nobody likes somebody who snores.
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: Courage to me is the use of the ability to stand up for your rights and beliefs, no matter what others say or do and no matter the consequences.
Loyalty: Putting trust in your friends, supporting them in their decisions and offering your help when they need it.
Intelligence: I believe intelligence is a combination of factors: It is a measure of your inherent ability to obtain knowledge; it is a measure of how much of that knowledge you learn; and it is an indicator of you desire to obtain more knowledge.
Ambition: Wanting to be the best at what you do for whatever reason, whether it's personal satisfaction or a more material reward; I believe that everybody feels this way about something and for their own personal reason.

What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? I don't really feel like there's a house I don't fit in, because I feel like I possess a couple of each of the qualities valued by each of the houses. I would be content in whatever house I was sorted into, because obviously that's what others see in me, even if I don't see it in myself.
Where did you find out about us? From someone in another community that I'm a member of, though I can't remember his/her username right now, sorry!
