If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? I'd like to even the odds between people a bit. Spread the wealth around from the people who have more than they know what to do with, and help the ones who don't have anything at all. Make it easier for everyone to have a sporting chance at life without having to choose between eating and having warm clothes, for example. I don't think it's fair or reasonable for Sports or Entertainment stars to have multiple millions (no matter how terrific they are at their jobs) while there are people all over the world who can't afford a roof over their heads. I think anyone who has extra funds, time, or energy should do what they can to help those less fortunate then themselves.

What makes a person respectable? The ability to continue living their life and have hope no matter what happens to them. I lose respect for anyone who spends their days complaining about how terrible their life is and doing nothing to try to change their situation (except to find something new to complain about). I respect people who step outside their comfort zones and try new things even when they're scared, those who believe that respect should be mutual and people who strive to treat others without prejudice or petty cruelty.

What do you look for in a friend? Someone intelligent enough to hold an interesting conversation, secure enough to argue their point without having a discussion dissolve into a screaming match, and silly enough to skip down the road whenever they feel like. People who like to laugh and can understand sarcasm and irony, who read actual books for enjoyment, and can make fun of themselves and others when the situation calls for it. A friend should stay friendly even if you disagree or forget to call them back right away. I try to keep people around me that aren't afraid to be themselves, and who let me be myself (no matter how strange) around them.

What are your hobbies? Reading, just about anything i can get hold of, but mostly fiction. Rowling (obviously), but also Terry Pratchett, Michael Crichton, Shakespeare, Garth Nix, Arthur Conan Doyle, Douglas Adams, and Meg Cabot are some of the authors I read repeatedly. I enjoy spending time with friends, going to movies or just discussing everything that comes to mind. When I'm home I wander the internet, IMing or catching up with my Friends List, or I get hypnotized by certain shows on TV- almost anything except Reality Shows. Reality happens, you shouldn't have to watch other people having lives. I travel when I can, like trying new things, and make grand plans I never seem to go through with...

Have or would you give time and money to a charity? I've worked with food kitchens and senior citizen outreach programs before, and I would definitely volunteer my time (since I don't have much money to give), especially to charities that work to improve conditions for children and animals. At the moment I make my living working for a non-profit organization, as an Activities Coach with developmentally disabled adults. Love my job, it's incredibly fun and never, ever boring. I've actually been looking into doing a volunteer project overseas but unfortunately most of them charge a fee to defray their costs, and money's tight at the moment.

What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish? I'd like to finally figure out exactly what I want to do with my life and how to make it my career. If that never happens, I would like to spend several years traveling the world and seeing absolutely everything there is to see. I feel that there's so many places to visit and so many people to meet-why spend your whole life in the same place, never experiencing something different?

Who is your role model? To a certain extent, my mother. She traveled the world alone for ten years, just because she wanted to. She also managed to carry on by herself after my dad died, despite her mother and other people telling her she wasn't strong enough to do things on her own. She allowed me to be independent and think for myself, and showed me that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is give something or someone up. She's very responsible; she works so hard just to pay bills and try to make life better for everyone around her, and I hope I have even a small percentage of her strength.

What trait most annoys you about other people? Oh, so many things. No one would finish my post if I listed them all. People who try to be something they're not, who don't let themselves be who they really are, just to get approval from others are probably at the top of my list. Trying too hard to be just like everyone else doesn't make you cool or more acceptable, it just makes you boring. There's a Twilight Zone episode (can't recall the title) where everyone is forced to get plastic surgery to look "beautiful" and all that happened was that everyone looked and acted exactly the same. I had nightmares about this for months after seeing it.

What do you want to do for a living? Ideally, I'd like to work for the UN or one of the US Embassies, doing translation or something in International Relations. I love meeting people, and I'm very interested in other cultures. I also inherited my parents' wanderlust, I think - staying in one place for too long, doing the exact same thing all the time just makes me crazy and I have to leave. I've been at my current job seven months, and I'm only able to stay because I love it and I get to do something different every day.

If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do? I hope that I'd defend them, and help them get away. I don't think I would freeze or run away, unless they were attacked by giant slugs (I have an irrational fear of slugs. I have no idea why, they're not exactly dangerous, but still.)

Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason? If someone hurt or killed somebody I loved and I caught up with them, I might. I wouldn't kill them, but the Cruciatus Curse is a possibility. I do have a bit of a vengeful streak when I'm really mad...

What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities? I have a very good memory, especially for completely random information (even tried out for Jeopardy! cause everyone told me I should). I'm friendly unless you give me a reason not to be, and it takes a lot to make me stop liking someone. I can think and act quickly in an emergency while staying relatively calm. I'm a good listener unless I'm reading at the time. I can take a secret to the grave if needed.

What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities? I doubt my abilities often, second-guessing myself all the time. I can be neurotic at times, and freak out over trivial things (like slugs). I procrastinate, spend too much time doing nothing at all, and criticize everything I try to do.
Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: Being able to walk into a room full of people who hate you, and looking them all in the eye.
Loyalty: Staying friends with someone no matter what they put you through, and still managing to like them at the end of the day.
Intelligence: Knowing that you don't know everything, but knowing where to look to find the answers.
Ambition: Striving for something you really want, and putting everything you have into getting it.

What house do you think DOESN'T fit you? (This question is optional for those who feel they just DO NOT fit in a house. Please explain WHY.)
Where did you find out about us? Trolling through LiveJournal, remembered someone (violetcat) mentioning the hogwartsishome community, and followed the links.

EDIT: 30th July: Lengthened some of my answers a bit, as they were a little short...Hope I'm easier to sort now. :)
