Sort me?

I've done my best to make my answers nice and long, all are genuine and well thought out, etc.

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
It's hard to answer this without sounding cheesy. I spent most of my school years being pushed about, not actually bullied, but pushed about by people and watching my friends being pushed about. For once it'd have been nice to have someone stick up for me, or back me up when I did it for myself.

I'd make people realise that this culture of cruelty has to stop. The news is flooded with things about 'Happy slapping' and children being tied to trees and set on fire by their "friends". I don't understand why people can just find this amusing or if they don't, how they can not just tell someone at least.

What makes a person respectable?
A number of things. I'd say it's their way of handling others, most importantly. When you talk to someone it's important to be nice, unless they say anything horrid to you first, and not make bitter comments. Some people laugh at others who are supposed friends, or tell them things that anyone with a brain will know will upset them. What's the point of that?

I also think that people need to have good values; stick up for your friends, stand by your beliefs and have manners.

What do you look for in a friend?
Someone I can hold a convosation with, have a good laugh with and be around. I want someone who will suggest things for us to do so we don't end up sitting at home all day watching TV. I like to have fun with my friends so afterwards you can sit there, and have a laugh remembering. I can be loud sometimes or make a point just because I agree to it, and I need a friend who'll not always share my views, but back me up.

What are your hobbies?
I'm really artistic. I love painting and sketching or just graphics. I'm also a drama freak and love performing. I always get good feedback which gives me the confidence to do stuff like plays. I did a lot of drama in school for assemblies for my year and sometimes the whole school. I like that sort of thing, it's a great way to express yourself. I also like normal teenage things like going out with my friends, shopping, and films.

I like reading, too. I prefer to read things that are rather factual such as articles on crimelibrary.com, or (for example) Schindler's Ark. However, I love the Harry Potter series and a few other fictions.

Have or would you give time and money to a charity?
I have been a member of Youth SVP, a Catholic organisation dedicated to helping in our communities and so forth. We would do a variety of things; Go and play with the children in the local primary schools, Go to the Old people's homes and day centres to spend time and chat with them, and our art rooms were open as a 'drop in centre' where old or disabled people would come for lunch, convosation, etc.

I was actually made President of our school's branch (by vote), however, my Nan passed away and although I went to school, I couldn't cope with having to put on a false face and be cheerful. The manager told another member I wasn't committed, despite only missing one session out of about thirty, so I left the group. I don't stick around where people insult me, it's not right or dignified.

I am actually going to join a drama group that works with disabled children to encourage their confidence, which will be really nice.

What is the one thing you would most like to accomplish?
When I'm old I want to be content with all I have done. I don't want to feel anxious or disappointed with life, I want to have lived. I don't mean I want to go sky diving or anything stupid...just travel, experience lots, and have a good career, friends, and family.

Who is your role model?
I'd say Dustin Hoffman. Out of all actors he's the one who's transition into acting is the best for anyone to want. He wasn't one of these children who's parents did the hard work, who just ask for an agent and a good part in a film, he worked. He was badly bullied but overcame it and even got insults form his family about doing what he wanted, but he didn't let that get to him. Now look at him.

What trait most annoys you about other people?
I don't like people who are too brash. Not confident, but impolite, rude, selfish and the kind of people who finish your sentences and ask to borrow things and then just take them.

I also hate whimps. I hate going shopping with people who then say they're too scared to go to the till so whine until you will, or won't order for themselves in restaurants.

What do you want to do for a living?
I want to be an actress. Not a commercial one, but one who actually acts and does serious work, be it on stage or screen. If that doesn't work out, I want to be a Drama teacher in a High School because it means I can still perform, but teach others to.

I think I'd be good as a Police officer, too, and I'd love the excitement of that, however it may be too ordinary for me :(

If your friend was attacked (by a person, animal, or (in the magic world) beast), what would you do?
If I was there? I'd help them. If it was in the magical world, I'd say as many disarming/paralysing spells I could think off to get whatever/whoever it was off him/her. In reality, I'd try my best to kick, bite and scratch whatever it was until it either fled or came after me.

If I wasn't there, it depends. If I knew who did it, God help them. I love my friends and family and I'm not being melodramatic, I'd try my best to hurt them as much as they hurt my friend. If I didn't know, I'd just offer whatever help I could to my friend.

Would you ever use an Unforgivable Curse for any reason?
Yes. I wouldn't make a big habbit of it, but I'd use it to protect others who couldn't protect themselves or were being attacked. I would try all other means such as disarming spells, protecting charms, etc but if nothing else worked then, yes, I would.

People can claim to be noble and never use one, but if you saw your mother or father being attacked by a Death Eater, what would you do? Just hide and save your own skin? I'd rather at least try. I couldn't live with myself knowing I'd allowed someone else to die.

What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
1. Emotional strength - I tend to make it through what life throws at me. There've been through tough things I've got through.
2. Wisdom/Intelligence - I get above average grades in most subjects and excel in what takes my interest. I tend to use logic rather than the hot-headed view.
3. Determination - When I want to achieve something; I put my all into getting there.
4. Sense of humour - I tend to make people laugh. It's just something I do, sometimes people I barely know are laughing at something lame I said and that I didn't expect to get any laughs. I try to make light of bad situations with a joke or something. It works in cheering my friends up.
5. Confidence - I used to be very shy but in recent years I'm loud and not afraid to ask questions, or speak in rooms full of people.

What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
1. Selfishness - I tend to be the one who sacrifices stuff for my friend's wants and sometimes I can just snap, and decide things will be going my way for once.
2. Opinionated - I have a lot of opinions and I'm not afraid to bore people until I'm done stating them.
3. Know it all - I correct grammar, speech, etc. My friends call me Hermione. *rolls eyes*
4. Untrusting - Although I actually welcome a little bit of conflict, I tend to steer away from it. I can get paranoid and untrusting.
5. Too emotional - I'm the type of person who can cry on que, or lets relationships get to me. Luckily, if I have to be strong and bottle it up I can, but it's still there...waiting to strike.

Define in your own words the following key traits:
Courage: Something we all need to get through everyday. The overcoming and facing of our fears, which can lead to the demise of them.
Loyalty: A bond one makes to a person, faith, organisation, etc that can not be broken. It stems from faith in that one thing, and the courage to stand up for it and not be torn away.
Intelligence: Having not only knowledge but sense to understand things.
Ambition: An essential thing for succeeding in life or in any task. The want to succeed and the determination to follow through.

Name: Leeley

Age: 16

What house do you think DOESN'T fit you?
Hufflepuff. I have traits of the other three houses - I'm intelligent, I'm confident and brave and I can be selfish or cunning sometimes...but I just don't see the appeal in Hufflepuff. It's never come up on any tests I answer honestly...so I just guess it's not me.

Where did you find out about us?
I was looking over thespyglass's icon journal and saw the link.
