  1. What HP character do you identify with most and why?

Cho Chang. Cho was smart, pretty, and also kind of boy crazy. She and Cedric (other than his awful demise) reminded me a lot of my relationship with my high school boyfriend (many, many years ago)..we were sort of a "golden couple" and were too serious, too soon, which was how we fell apart ultimately. Like Cho, I think I'd do very well at the Defense of the Dark Arts course and Charms. People say some of my best qualities are my resilience and determination, and I think you'd need both as a member of Dumbeldore's Army and to excel in defense of the dark arts. Cho seemed quiet and kind of introspective on the surface, but she was really a powerhouse. she respected her parents and authority but also defied them when necessary. She was a good judge of character and a good friend. Cho also struggled emotionally and I can relate to that.

  2. What one moment in the books was the most meaningful to you?

Oh, there are so many. The Goblet of Fire was my FAVOURITE book of the series, and Cedric's heroism and death hit me very hard. It was , to me, the turning point in the books when the Hogwarts gang really started to grow up and things got very serious like they never had before. I don't think they expected, at all, just how dangerous the Tri-Wizard Tournament was. They had seen danger and heard of death before, but now it was staring them in the face and happened to innocent Cedric. I think it made Harry, the protagnoist, come face to face with the evil his parents did and he knew that it was a very real struggle to be the "Boy who lived" as he grew..that the power of He Who Must Not Be Named was still very real and dangerous and that there were times his Elders knew better, and others where they should not be listened to, and making these choices forced him to question eveything and grow up.

  3. What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?

I'd like to say something less frivolous, but to be honest. ...I'd see myself with a perfect figure, able to down a bag of Oreos or whatever I wanted and never gained weight. I'd have a flawless appearance, beautiful wardrobe, gorgeous home and cars, and unlimted funds. I'd also be kind and ambiitious, and know when to "hold them and fold them" as the Gambler sould say, but in this case I would know when to help and when not to, when to climb to the top and when to stay still. I wanted very much to be a lawyer, a prosecuting attourney, as a teen, and dropped the ball on that one in University. it's been a regret of "What could have been " my whole life. I also wanted to enter politics. In the Mirror, I'd be a successful attourney and a well-loved, beautiful, popular politician who fought for the rights of others and was tough but fair.

  4. If you were to become headmaster at Hogwarts, what is one thing you would change about the school or how it operates?
I don't know. I'd like to think I could do things differently, but I don't think I could. It would be pretty pompous to think I could do better than Dumbledore! One thing would be student safety. Now that I'm a parent, the idea that it was so easy for first year students to wander into the Forbidden Forest and do battle with gigantic trolls has me concerned. It also seems ambiguous there : they make strict rules, but then reward or punish students for breaking them all considering. there needs to be more uniformity, and it seems that after hundreds of years of students, they'd know to maybe keep people safer. I think it was naive to think Voldemort wouldn't strike again, or evil, or that Harry coming there wouldn't invite evil as well as good. I think preparedness, uniformity, and fairness could be done better there.

  5. If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
Desierous. It would be a very pretty smelling perfume, a fresh, clean scent no one is allergic too, like the rain or the ocean, or stepping out of a shower. With one puff, you get a wish. Any wish. No strings attached. The only limit is you only get one, and once you use it, you can't use it again. It would be in a beautiful, glowing, azure-coloured , old-fashioned perfume decanter that has visions of different animals and mystical things floating in it, changing depending on your view. The liquid would glow depending on the House colours of the person holding it. It would automatically stop and vanish after your wish, and would be airtight..no earthly or unearthly being could break the limits set as it would be set by ethereal means, and would be a potion that existed since time began and not made by human hands. Everyone would get one chance, but would have to prove themselves worthy of it, and the wish could bring harm to none unless it were in the name of justice.

  6. You have to venture deep into the Forbidden Forest one night. Pick one Harry Potter character other than Hagrid and one object (muggle or magical), besides your wand, that you'd want with you.

Hermione Granger. I can't read a map to save my life, and Hermoine is so smart and savvy she could get us out of there, if needed, in no time. I also tend to panic and get anxiety, I think Hermione would stay calmer under pressure than I would. She seems to know how to handle almost anything and is a walking spellbook. I also wouldn't feel safe being alone with an unknown guy in the forest., and being a feminist, would want to prove we girls could do it ourselves! The object? a teleporter that could get us the heck out of there if we had to go.

  7. What was your ideal job as a child? What is your ideal job now? Do you think it would be the same in the Wizarding World?

A lawyer and a mom. Now, I am a mom and i do love it, I stay at home with my daughter and am a fierce advocate for her, as she is on the autism spectrum with ADHD. Before she was born, I was a social worker. I would love to go back to school to either do something medical, like being a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse, or to be a lawyer, but my health isn't the greatest. That frustrates me, but it is what it is, and I'm not dying or anything. In the Wizarding world? probably. I love to argue and advocate and have a deep competitive streak that makes me want to win, but I'm also a very mothering person who doesn't get grossed out easily and loves to help others in that way (maybe it's also a control thing) , so something medical as a Wizard would suit me also. I'd probably be a mom, a politician with a law and medical degree, ideally.

  8. What kinds of decisions are the most difficult for you to make?

Not spending money.  I spend money like it's unlimited and it certainly is not. I don't like having to wait for nice things and want everything NOW. I seem to panic if i don't have a large supply of things i like or will need, our pantry looks like it belongs in a fallout shelter. :) I get very antsy not being prepared. I also love pretty things and if i have to choose JUST ONE THING, it's next to impossible. I want all the things. I'm a Leo, what more can I say?

  9. If you had the opportunity to live forever, under what conditions would you accept? And if you did choose to live forever, what would you do with eternity?
That I get to be and do something different in each life, and never be very sick or go through a lot of hardship. I'd also want my daughter to be with me, as I can't imagine life without her. What would I do with eternity? Who can say? It's impossible to imagine eternity as a limited human being. Our minds can't comprehend it. I wouldn't want to live forever (Highlander taught us something, folks!) knowing what we know now, as I doubt it would work out, but who knows? I'm agnostic about such things, as none of us can say what it would be like

  10. What is one thing you would never want said about you?
I would never want to be called ugly. I'm very sensitive about my apperance. If someone says something bad about how i look, it's my achilles heel. It's gotten easier now that I am older, but still is not an easy thing for me to go through. My appearance and first impressions mean alot. If someone tells me I'm pretty, I could be their best friend..lol! It means too much to be, actually.

  11. Do you believe that moral actions should be judged by the intentions behind them, or by the consequences they create?
That's impossible to say without knowing what the actions, consequences, and intentions are, isn't it? I mean, if i murdered a pedophile for coming near a child, that wouldn't be bad in my mind, but if I murdered someone suspecting they did somnething wrong, it would. The whole picture has to be taken into consideration, and we can't possibly do that without knowing all the facts.

  12. What do you look for in a friend?
Understanding. I'm sick often, and am an ambivert, so one moment can be ready to socialize and the next want to hide in my bedroom. I've lost friends this way and I'd like them to know and understand i'm not meaning to ignore or short change them. I also would like a friend who is a good listener and can give and take: a friend that is either a bulldozer or a doormat wouldn't work. They need to be able to spar with me on an equal level. I love positive, funny people: negative, gloomy people bring me down.

  13. What trait most annoys you about other people?
Passive-Aggression. I can't stand that form of manipulation. If people have an issue with me, they need to tell me, esepcially friends. I know it's tough, but hinting at it and trying to make me feel like crap is not going to work. I want to be able to have people be able to be honest with me and meet me where I am. Have the courage to talk to me, and don't undermine me, as you won't know what hit you..don't bring a knife to this gunfight!

  14. What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?

Resilience: I've made it through many hard times and come out ok. I always seem to come out ok no matter what.
Determination: If i want something badly, I will stop at nothing to get it..well, I won't do anything illegal or hurt people, but i will climb and claw my way to the top. I have to want it though, otherwise I won't bother.
Public speaking: I won awards for public speaking in high school and crazily, still really enjoy it. It comes naturally to me.
Understanding: I find it easy to see things from other peoples' perspective and will easily enter into mutual understanding with someone, just don't cross me.
Intellect: I'm a researcher. My doctor actually gives me resources now rather than saying "stay off google". I want all the information and want to understand it. I often feel there's not enough time to learn everything I want to in this life, and it scares me that I could die without learning all there is in the world, as impossible as it would be.

  15. What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?

Temper: I've got a bad one. I can keep it in check, but if someone crosses me badly enough or deeply hurts me, I'm done, and will cut them off and never speak to them again if it is bad enough.
Willpower I(lack there of): I'm somewhat overweight for a reason and in debt, because i can't say no to what i like or limit myself. My self discipline is that of a toddler.
Anxiety: I am a stereotype as a Jewish mother (which I am). I worry about everything. I worry about worrying. Anxiety has held me back from doing so many things and made me physically sick. I'd be so different were I not anxious.
Greed: I like pretty things, material things, and collecting them. I want more and more even when I have what I intially wanted. I suddenly don't want it as much and want the next best thing.
Snobbery: I'm "that person " that corrects grammar and hates poor table manners. I feel badly about it, but often do judge people that choose to remain uneducated or act in a boorish way , if they know better.
