- What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why?
This is going to sound kind of...weird...to say the least, but I think that I would actually like to "hopefully" open a witch school/learning center for the non-magic folk. For those who are interested and study along the lines of Wicca, Paganism, Druidry and etc.
I would try to find some super cool dude like Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to help with studies and to me a mentor to students. Students would need to be at least 18 though. I would not feel comfortable being responsible for anyone under that age dabbling in a subject that they may or may not fully grasp.
Plus there would be several stages to pass through before you could come through to the Wizarding World to learn. Not only for protection for each individual person, but also for the protection of witches and wizards as well. It would have to be a top secret type project. There would no doubt be a group of witches and wizards that would be outraged if they ever found out that muggles were in their world. Even if it is for learning.
I just think of all the people who are interested in these subjects and I can't imagine it being any different if the Wizarding World did actually exist. I can't imagine there not people a good many people who weren't curious about these subjects and even studied these subjects themselves. Why not share what the Wizarding World has to offer with them? - You have to venture deep into the Forbidden Forest one night. Pick one Harry Potter character other than Hagrid and one object (muggle or magical), besides your wand, that you'd want with you.
I would take a very certain guess that this is a popular answer here, but I would say that the invisibility cloak would be my choice for my object. It would hopefully give an advantage to us who were in the forest. If there is a ferocious creature heading in our direction one pull of the cloak over us and POOF. We're gone. Now whether or not this would work if the creature was aware of our presence...I can't say.
I would imagine that this is also a very popular answer, but I would like to take Albus Dumbledore into the forest with me. The man is a genius. He's a ninja warrior. He's fought battles of his own and come out on top. Not to mention his PWNage of Voldemort in the Ministry of Magic. Who wouldn't feel safe with a person like this? - If you had the opportunity to live forever, but your family and friends did not, what would you choose? And if you did choose to live forever, what would you do with eternity?
This is one of those questions that's going to go along the lines of, "I could absolutely do this, but..." I find being around people a lot to be exhausting. I don't know what it is, but being around people a lot drains me of energy. Plus the fact that I kind of like being alone. Probably a little too much though. The but in this situation is that thinking of my family and not being able to see or be with them at all ever again. That would be INCREDIBLY hard. It would be hardest thinking about my mom. I am an absolutely momma's girl. If I have to go a day without seeing her at least once...yeah...it's like that. So when it does come down to it. I don't think I could do it. Yes, I do prefer to be alone...but I have to, HAVE TO, see my mom at least once a day. Give her a hug, tell her that I love her...without that...my days suck pretty much and I find it hard to get through them. - If you could travel back in time to one point, when and where would you go? Why?
I would probably go back in time to every single time my mother gave me advice or told me that I would understand when I got older and tell myself, "She's right." I hate to admit that because I very much dislike being wrong. It's humiliating for me to admit that I am wrong, but the truth is...my mother was right. She was right about everything. She was right about the things that I made a fuss about because it wasn't the choice I wanted to make. If I had known then what I know now...oh boy, would things have been easier. - What HP character do you identify with most and why?
I've always felt like I identify with Neville.
You have Neville who is interested in plants and horticulture. It's the normal thing that you would see a teenager being intersted in. Even in the Wizarding World. For me I follow along those lines, but not with plants and horticulture. I have an interest in ghosts, hauntings and forensics. These are not things that most people are interested in and I found that out very easily by the look on peoples faces when I tell them what my interests are.
I feel like I also indentify with Neville in the area of self-esteem. Neville had a hard life growing up. His parents were taken from him and put into a hospital because they were driven insane by Death Eaters. My mom has always been with me, always, but I had troubles with family life growing up and it caused issues with myself as well. So I can definitely understand where any feelings from Neville's situation comes from.
The last way I feel that I identify with Neville is how we both grew as people. I was the type of person that never spoke up for myself. Let people walk all over me and would rather just stay quiet and way from confrontation while someone was taking advantage of me or insulting me. I was just...scared...I guess. Of standing up for myself and it turning into something more that I didn't want to be involved in. Now I'm different. I stand up for myself, I don't let others walk all over me and I demand to be treated with respect. Neville grew into a new person himself. Someone who stood up for what he believed in. Who fought for what he felt was right. Who stood up for himself and for who he was. - What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?
I would see me hugging my grandpa. He passed away last year on Christmas day after being diagnosed with cancer in June. I miss him so much. Sometimes I find it difficult to even really believe that he's gone. It's sinking in more each day, but I just wish that I had gotten more time with him. He was one of the most amazing people I had ever known. You would never see him without a smile on his face. Never. Not even when he was sick. He would drive around town listening to Johnny Cash and Gene Chandler and it amused everyone in town. He was a favourite around town and we were all incredibly blessed to have someone so wonderful in our lives. - Do you believe that moral actions should be judged by the intentions behind them, or by the consequences they create?
This is one of those questions that's really hard to answer without having a two sided feeling about it. Although I do agree that there are some people who do horrible things on purpose that DO deserve their punishment...no matter how harsh if may be...I find it hard to agree that the people who make horrible outcomes come from innocent actions deserve those same punishments. Not that they shouldn't still be punished in some way, but maybe in a lesser form.
It all comes down to my emtions. Which really isn't the best thing to rely on in situations like these. I have an immense amount of mercy for people. I would like to think that we live in a world where someone who had innocent intentions would be able to get a lesser sentence. At least that's how I would feel about if it was someone I cared about a lot in that situation. - What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now?
When I was a kid.....hmm, there were so many things. You know how it is as a kid. You wanted a new job every year. One year I wanted to be a psychologist, the next year I wanted to be an FBI investigator, the year after that I wanted to be involved in the movie business...stuff like that.
I work in customer service right now. In the future I think I would actually like to open my own little "hole in the wall" bookstore that sells a selection of new age music, mixed with some metal as well. Barnes and Noble is my favourite store in the world. I LOVE it there. I love the atmosphere and the wonderful selection that they have. There's this music store in Tennessee that has an impressive metal collection. The thoughts of these two stores that I admire so much brought me recently to this idea of having my own little shop that I described above. I think it would be quite lovely. - If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it?
I would create a little potion to help a person have a restful sleep. When burned Rosemary and Lavendar aide in sleep. All you would need to do is boil a small cauldron of pure rain water or fresh spring water and then add in a teaspoon of either Lavendar or Rosemary. Take a tablespoon of the potion and mix it in your favourite drink of choice. Drink up and tada! You'll be asleep in no time. - If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus?
My boggart would be me falling from a high place. I am terrified of heights in that way. It's not the actual height part, but more the falling part that terrifies me about high places. I remember riding a ride last year where I was falling. I thought I would be fine because I couldn't see the ground, but oh boy was I wrong. I was in tears by the time the ride was over.
When I performed the counter-spell, Riddikulus, my boggart would turn into me jumping up and down at a concert of a favourite band. The music from the new image in front of me would be so loud that it would drain any thought of the fear that I had from my boggart. - What do you look for in a friend?
I would like a friend to have a few things in common with and also a few things that we don't have in common. This way not only do we have things in common to talk about, but we also a few things that we can learn about from each other.
It would also be very nice to have a friend who is accepting of who I am. If I'm into something they don't like, like metal and horror movies, then that's cool. You don't have to like those things. Just respect the fact that I do and I'll do the same for you.
Trust as well. I need to be able to talk to a friend about things with knowing that those things will not be told to anyone else or those things will be not be held against me. You can't keep everything bad inside. You have to get it out. - What trait most annoys you about other people?
Disrespect. Please leave it at the door, honey. Sometimes it just baffles me at how customers act where I work. I have never seen such disrespect in my life. There's a difference between being concerned and rightly angry and then being completely childish and outrageous to the point of where you're being down right disrespectful. - What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
(1) Compassion: For animals especially. It breaks my heart to see animals homeless or people homeless. To see animals or people abused. I wish I could have all the money in the world to create a huge place for all homeless and abused animals and humans to go and live forever.
(2) Self-Confidence: You most likely wouldn't know this just by being around me because I am mostly quiet, but I have more self-confidence now than I did ever in my life. I doesn't matter to me if someone doesn't approve of who I am inside or outside. I am who I am and treat others the way I want to be treated. At the end of the day that's all that matters.
(3) Hard-Working: Give me a task and I'll do it as quickly and thoroughly as possible. I'm a person who has a firm belief in, "Work first, play later." It's a refreshing feeling to get your work done quickly and then have the rest of your day to relax and enjoy whatever it is that you like to do.
(4) Easily Entertained: I know this make me sounds like a scatterbrain, but it's actually a good advantage. I'm an only child so I've always had this way of finding ways to entertain myself. Whether if it's listening to music, playing Sudoku, watching a movie, reading or whatever I'm interested in doing. I'm hardly ever bored. I'm also on the move finding something to do.
(5) Driven/Productive: I can't just sit and do nothing. Whether it's cleaning, doing something work related or something for my own enjoyment. I get restless if I'm just sitting there doing nothing. I have to be doing something. Which is probably by everyone at work is always saying, "We never see you around!" That would be because I'm also moving doing something. - What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
(1) Stress: I get stressed a little too easily. Usually only in very hectic situations. I don't like feeling out of control and when I get into a situation that is very hectic I become stressed out. Go into a panic attack sometimes. It's kind of a mess.
(2) Temper: I have a temper that could only come from my Irish background. I don't like to show it because it's a wretched feeling when I get that angry, but if you push the right buttons a little too many times it will come out.
(3) Shopping: It is my weakness! My absolute biggest weakness. I'm worst at buying Disney things. The Disney store just came out with new Disney villain merchandise I couldn't help myself! I'm horrible at self-control when it comes to shopping.
(4) Indecisive: I have a hard time making up my mind. I think it's just because I want to experience so many things in my life. Even the littlest things. I'm the type of person who wonders what would have been the outcome in a situation if I had taken the other road. I don't regret where I ended up, but I just always have that little wonder and hope that whatever was in store will come into my path again.
(5) Anti-Social: A little bit. I've been good on getting out of it every now and then because my family gets worried. They think it's unhealthy for me to be alone all the time. I dunno. I just kind of like being alone. I find being around people all the time exhausting. I like me time. I like hanging out with myself...if that makes sense. - Define in your own words the following key traits:
- Courage: Taking a risk to follow a belief or dream that is important to you. For instance...signing up for the military and going to war or following a belief system that your family and friends don't. Being who YOU are can take a great amount of courage because in this world people tend to have bad reactions to things that they don't believe in or support.
- Loyalty: Sticking by someone that you care about no matter what happens in the future after you become friends or whatever you status is with that person. Accepting that person as a human being and treating them the way YOU want to be treated no matter what decisions in life they make or paths they may follow. You don't have to agree with it, as long as it's not something illegal or harmful to someone else, but at least support them and stick by them.
- Intelligence: Having the common sense to know right from wrong. People in general know when something is wrong because there's that feeling. That icky feeling in the pit of your stomach that you KNOW what you're doing or getting into is wrong. It's a persons choice of whether or not to listen to that instinct or ignore.
- Ambition: The yearning to do something great that you will have pride in. It's always a nice thing to do something that you can remember and admire for years after. Something that you worked hard for to achieve and every time you see the good outcomes it created you just have a moment of pride in yourself. It can be something small or big. Doesn't matter which. What matters is that you had the ambition to achieve whatever it is through hard work.
- Courage: Taking a risk to follow a belief or dream that is important to you. For instance...signing up for the military and going to war or following a belief system that your family and friends don't. Being who YOU are can take a great amount of courage because in this world people tend to have bad reactions to things that they don't believe in or support.
